Day 2

The arrangement was to wake up and meet at the lobby at 7.50am. I nearly overslept but thanks to a few knocks to my door, I awoke. For the next few hours, we were being shown around on the campus. I remembered we walked past group of students having a mass exercise. In a way, I felt that their physical education was a bit boring. I regretted not appreciating my sports and wellness programme in the last term. After going through almost half of the campus, we were then treated to lunch by the University principal. After that, we were being led to the main road where there are international brands and fast-food chains such as McDonalds and KFC. So our lecturer gave us about two hours to shop and meet up at a specific spot. I did not really shop much. Basically I was more concerned about the groceries and basic necessities. Not contradicting myself, I and ram bought a pair of jackets for 120RMB at a last minute decision as the trip to Lu San mountain next week will be very cold from what we heard. We then strolled back to our hostel. In a group of twelve people, we agreed to eat at the canteen. Once we reached the canteen, we settled down and ordered a seven course dinner. The bill was then shared between eight people. We had to walk to the girl’s hostel for a meeting. We then discussed about some issues regarding about the boy’s hostel which is mainly the internet connection, ways to survive without spending much and our exchange programme performance. Left the hostel at about ten plus and by the time we were back, it was already eleven. I sat and watched television before bathing as I was plain lazy to move my body about after walking in the freezing temperatures outside. Watched a last movie “Charlie’s Angels”, before finally resting my head on the pillow for a good night’s sleep.
