Day 4
The weather today was not as cold as the first and second. I can feel the heat from the sun, so I only wore two layers. Anyway, it was our first lesson of the trip and it starts at 8am. Everyone had a little trouble in waking up. However, we still managed to wake up and proceed to our classroom. Once we reached, we were greeted by a young lecturer who is merely in her twenties. We later found out that she was only twenty-seven years old. Anyway, the lecturer was setting up the projector but could not get it to start as it was somewhat faulty or something so we were told that the lesson will be postponed to the afternoon. Most of us headed back to our hostels to get some rest. For me, I arranged with the other guys to meet up and have a quick lunch at the halal restaurant before going to class. When the time came, we met up. Little did I know that we had walk over to the girl’s hostel to bring them to the restaurant. So when everything was done, we were late for class by twenty minutes. Luckily for us, the lecturer was not harsh on us and we settle down as quickly as possible to begin class. During the two hours, we were told about the different dynasty that ruled china in the olden days and the materials or equipment that the people used in those days. It was quite interesting to listen and learn about all these. The two hours was quite fast and before we knew it, we were dismissed. As we had no more programmes for the day, I made an arrangement with Agnes that I go to her room to use the internet. I packed my bag and stuffed my laptop into it. I, Faris, Aziz and Chau Liang then began the twenty minute walk to the girl’s hostel. Once we reached, we split into two groups. Faris and Aziz headed to Amanda’s room while I and Chau Liang went to Agnes’s room. Once inside, I immediately used the internet. I desperately needed to go to MSN to check my emails and chat with my friends back in Singapore. I too, also chatted with my parents online. So I was basically bombarded with many questions such as how the weather was, enough clothes to wear, enough money and etc. I chatted with my family and friends for a good two hours before going to the kitchen to have some noodles that Agnes cooked for us. Well, home-cooked food usually will not taste as good as restaurants, however, when you feel hungry. Everything goes well to yr taste. I ate to my fill yesterday as Agnes cooked a lot of noodles plus Amanda gave us some leftover pasta for us to finish it so as not to waste food. Midway, we were being joined by Ram and Peter who came to use the internet too. It is obvious that Singaporeans cannot live without the internet. It’s our life. When everything was done, we played card games in the room until 10.30pm. As it was late, we packed up and went back to our hostel. I showered and fell dead onto my bed as I was too tired by the day’s activities.
